Privacy and Confidentiality E-Learning Program

Welcome! This E-learning program consists of some general information and some scenarios to help you learn the concepts and principles of privacy and confidentiality under current legislation.

When you complete this program, you will be able to:

  • Differentiate between Privacy and Confidentiality
  • Apply principles of Privacy and Confidentiality to your decision-making

How do I use this E-Learning Program?
The program consists of 5 modules.

When you get to the 5th module you will be asked to identify yourself to allow us to track who has participated in the program. You will be asked to provide your:

      • First Name
      • Last Name
      • Department / Division
      • Primary site (LHSC or St. Joseph’s)

Role of Privacy Office
The Privacy Office staff will:

  • Advocate for patient and staff privacy
  • Provide expertise and guidance for the implementation of privacy laws and principles
  • Ensure compliance by conducting internal audits and reviewing organizational processes
